The Value of Simplicity
How do you measure the value of simplicity?
I am still looking for the answer, but here is a thought:
The richest company in the world, Apple, has put ease of use and simplicity at the heart of its product development strategy. I haven’t seen it yet, but they tell me that the manual for the new iPhone 6 (which is more powerful and more sophisticated than a 1980’s mainframe) has just 10 words. An amazing feat of simplification!
Apple is making more profit these days than Google, Facebook, Sony and HP put together; which seems to be rather conclusive evidence that simplicity pays.
