Customer Services by phone – reducing the frustration
Solving some common frustrations when calling call centres
This is what goes through our minds before we pick up the phone to customer services:
- I don’t know if I am going to get through to someone who can help me
- I don’t know if the ultimate person is available – what are there opening hours
- I may have to repeat my request and personal id information
- I don’t know what information I will need to provide
- There is no map of the options to look at before I call
- I don’t know how much I will be charged for the call
- I don’t know if I can skip the prompts and press the digit for the next option
Back to that old mantra of time is the one non-renewable resource: why do we all have to waste time when calling corporate call centres? I set about trying to solve some of the these problems, and found that the last three might be possible
